GFL’s 50/50 Draw for Heroes Challenge
June 2026
Lottery House Rules (Rules of Play):
1. All tickets will be sold electronically, through Rafflebox. It will be promoted online via social media.
2. The draw will take place at 11 AM on June 16th at the Make-A-Wish office located at 202 Brownlow Avenue, Suite 125, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1T5
3. The draw will be broadcast live on Facebook.
4. This will be a one-time draw.
5. The winner will be determined using the random number generator (RNG) online through Rafflebox. Rafflebox offers the ability to randomly select a winner through the click of a button.
6. The winner’s name will be drawn and announced live on Facebook. The winner will also then be contacted by phone and email.
7. Best efforts will be made to contact the winner. The winner will have 90 days to claim the prize. If the prize is not claimed within 90 days, another draw using the same entrants will be made.
8. The pot size will be announced through social media as it grows and the total amount being drawn for will also be communicated on the morning of June 16th, 2026.
9. The winner will receive 50% of the total pot. A payment will be made by cheque to the winner by “the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada.”
10. The winner must agree to have their name and address recorded for NS Ticket Lottery Reporting purposes.
11.Make-A-Wish employees are not permitted to enter the lottery. Friends and family of Make-A-Wish employees are permitted to enter the lottery.
12. Entrants must be Nova Scotia residents who are 19 years of age or older.
13. Tickets will be sold through Rafflebox for the following amounts: 1 for $5, 3 for $10, 20 for $20 and 100 for $50.
14. There is no minimum number of tickets, which must be sold, that will affect the draw being extended and/or cancelled.
15.Draw process: To maximize the integrity of the draw, the following will be done:
o Draw will be done live through a feed on Facebook using a mobile phone.
o Immediately prior to the draw, an announcement will be made to announce the total pot amount.
o A Make-A-Wish staff member will do the draw with at least one other Make-A-Wish staff member and at least one staff member from GFL in attendance.
