Goderich Lions Young Canada Week 50-50 Ruleset
1. The lottery will take place during Goderich Young Canada Week from Friday March 6th to Sunday March 22nd, 2026. The event location is: Maitland Recreation Centre, 190 Suncoast Dr E. Goderich ON
2. All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older.
3. Tickets are 3 for $5, 10 for $10, 30 for $20 and 100 for $50.
4. Tickets will be available at the venue using an electronic raffle system and on the Rafflebox platform.
5. In person sales will receive a receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers. No specific numbers can be given as they are issued in sequence of order.
6. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold during the tournament.
7. The amount of the 50/50 will be displayed periodically on the screens throughout the arena and on the Rafflebox platform.
8. The winning number will be announced during the 3rd period of the final game on March 22nd, 2026 at approximately 9:30pm by the PA announcer and displayed on screens throughout the arena. The winning number will also be updated on the lottery landing page and on the Goderich Lions Club Website/Social Media. www.goderichlions.ca/ycw
9. If the patron with the winning number on their ticket is at the game where the number has been drawn, they may then come to Young Canada Week Office, located by the front doors of the Maitland Recreation Centre.
10. If the winner is not in attendance at the game, or does not wish to claim their prize immediately, they may claim their prize by contacting The Goderich Lions Club by email at: Lions@goderichlions.ca. The winning ticket may then be brought to the Maitland Recreation Centre 190 Suncoast Dr E, Goderich Ontario at an agreed upon time for ticket verification. The winner will then be paid by cheque valued at 50% of the ticket sales. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque.
11. The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchase for.
12. The winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet.
13. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for the 50/50 raffle. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
16. If no winner comes forward, the winning stub will be kept in a safety deposit box and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed the prize will be donated to the Goderich Lions Club, or other Registered Charity with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
18. The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the 50/50 draws:
People under the age of 18
Residents outside of Ontario
Intoxicated individuals
Members of the Goderich Lions Club executive or Goderich Minor Hockey executive
19. The above set of rules will be posted at each event.
