About LAWS

As a no-kill, non-profit animal shelter, we’re committed to rescuing abandoned, homeless, and injured animals in our community and placing them in loving homes. We’ve been providing high-quality, compassionate care since 1993 through the combined efforts of dedicated volunteers and a handful of paid staff. The funds raised through this 50/50 raffle contribute to our life-saving work, and because LAWS receives no government funding, your support truly makes the difference.

RAFFLE RULES – Lakefield Animal Welfare Society Love in Bloom 50/50 Raffle

1. Lakefield Animal Welfare Society has established and will maintain rules to govern the conduct of the draw and awarding of the prize.

2. Raffle tickets shall not be sold to a person under 18 years of age.

3. A requirement that the licensed charity’s raffle ticket sellers advise adult ticket buyers not to write the name of a person under 18 years of age on the ticket.

4. Owners and/or employees of RaffleBox Technologies Inc. will not be eligible to purchase tickets.

5. All Lakefield Animal Welfare Society Board members and staff, and anyone living with them, will not be eligible to purchase tickets in the lottery.

6. The draw will be administered remotely by Lakefield Animal Welfare Society, 2887 Lakefield Rd, Selwyn, ON K9J 6X5.

7. Important Dates: Tickets will be available for sale through Rafflebox beginning on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 9:00 am ET and ticket sales will close on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm ET.

8. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all lottery numbers sold for the draw on Thursday, April 30, 2026at 2:00 pm ET. The winner will receive 50% of the cash proceeds from the raffle.

9. If a prize winner cannot be contacted, Lakefield Animal Welfare Society will secure the unclaimed prize for a period of 6 months from the draw date. If at that time the prize has still not been claimed, the prize will be donated to an eligible organization other than the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society.

10. If a winning ticket has more than one name affiliated with it, Lakefield Animal Welfare Society shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the ticket, and the licensed charity and the AGCO are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals whose names appear on the ticket stub.

12. Any disputes or complaints shall be directed to Lakefield Animal Welfare Society, Lyndsay Lisson-De Ell, Director of Operations, at 705-652-0588 or director@lakefieldanimalwelfare.org.

TICKET REQUIREMENTS AND SALES

1. Raffle tickets will be available for 3 for $5.00; 10 for $10.00; 25 for $20.00, 50 for $35.00.

2. The winner will receive 50% of the cash proceeds from the raffle.

3. Raffle tickets will be sold online at https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/laws5050 with payments via credit card being accepted.

4. No person shall be obligated to purchase raffle tickets as a condition of registration for a licensed charity’s programs or services.

5. Tickets shall be delivered via email to the purchaser.

6. Winners will be announced via Lakefield Animal Welfare Society’s social media & email.

7. Lakefield Animal Welfare Society will arrange the transfer of the prize to the winner.

RAFFLE POLICIES

1. Lakefield Animal Welfare Society will operate the raffle according to the Criminal Code of Canada, the AGCO rules and policies established under the legislation, including these terms and conditions.

2. Lakefield Animal Welfare Society and our Love in Bloom 50/50 Raffle adhere to all federal and provincial laws.

3. Any approved amendments that affect the awarding of prizes will result in immediate notification to ticket holders.

RAFFLE PRINCIPLES

The guiding principles for Lakefield Animal Welfare Society’s Raffle:

1. The integrity of gaming will be ensured.

2. Gaming policies will reflect a commitment to social responsibility.

3. The financial return from our raffle is to be maximized for the benefit of Lakefield Animal Welfare Society and our work.
