HOCKEY FOR HOSPICE
Hockey For Hospice is an annual event, held every year from December 27th to December 29th. The tournament hosts approximately 2,000 young hockey players annually, ranging from ages 4-14, at a number of local arenas. Each of the players collect pledges from friends and family, and to date, they have raised more than $5.8 million for Hospice. Hockey For Hospice not only allows children to take part in a fun, well-organized hockey tournament, it also teaches them the importance of giving back to their community from a young age. The Hockey for Hospice Committee is made up of dedicated volunteers who work year-round to ensure a fabulous event and are always looking for opportunities to grow and improve.
THE HOSPICE OF WINDSOR AND ESSEX COUNTY
Founded to provide compassionate, clinical, end-of-life care, The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County has been caring for our community since 1979. Our Hospice believes in equitable access to care for all. We provide specialized wrap-around services to adults, children, and their caregivers, in the setting of their choice – whether it be in our Residences or in their home. With only partial government funding, it has been through the generous support of our volunteers and our community that we have continued to provide memorable care, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones.
