Rules of Play
Sale and Issuance of 50/50Tickets
1. 50/50 Draws are combined in-stadium and online events for Cancer Assistance Program and launched through the Rafflebox, AGCO approved platform. Tickets will be sold online and in-stadium using the electronic lottery system supplied by Rafflebox.
2. A player physically located in the province of Ontario, Canada may purchase 50/50 tickets for a Draw held by the Cancer Assistance Program online at www.cancerassist.ca/hamcardslottery, which is connected to the Rafflebox 50/50 system.
3. The following are ticket denominations for eligible players to purchase 50/50 tickets:
50/50 Ticket Denominations:
3 numbers for $5.00;
10 numbers for $10.00;
60 numbers for $20.00;
250 numbers for $50.00
There are an unlimited number of tickets available.
4. A player is solely responsible for ensuring that they receive the correct ticket denomination and is solely responsible for the handling of the purchased ticket after the 50/50 Fundraiser has presented the ticket.
5. A player must be 18 years of age or older to buy a ticket.
6. A player must be located in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
The Draw and Results
7. With approval from the AGCO, a draw may be held electronically or manually and at such time and place as the Cancer Assistance Program determines. The number drawn is referred to as the “winning number”.
8. When a Draw for a winning 50/50 ticket cannot be held on the date and time fixed, such draw shall be held when practicable with the approval of the AGCO.
9. The Winning Number for a Draw will be announced prior to the end of each Hamilton Cardinals Home Game at the stadium. The Winning Number will also be announced online at the Cancer Assistance Program’s website (www.cancerassist.ca/hamiltoncardinalslottery) and Cancer Assistance Program and Hamilton Cardinals social channels by noon the day following the close of sales.
10. Draws will occur via random number generator using Rafflebox, an AGCO approved online software on the final day of a Hamilton Cardinals Home Game prior to the end of the 9th inning. Sales will close after the completion of the 7th inning unless otherwise specified by the Cancer Assistance Program.

11. Should a game not take place for a reason out of our control, we will work to re-schedule the draw with the approval of the AGCO.
12. After buying online, patrons will be provided by the sellers, a receipt via email with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
13. After buying in-stadium, patrons will be provided by the sellers, a receipt printed out with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
14. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all lottery numbers sold for the draw.
15. The amount of the 50/50 will be determined based on the number and value of tickets purchased. This information will be updated in real-time on the lottery landing page located on the website. www.cancerassist.ca/hamiltoncardinalslottery
16. The winning ticket number will be announced at the Stadium, posted on our website and social channels. If the winner is not present at the game, the winner will be contacted by phone via the Cancer Assistance Program to make arrangements to claim their prize.
17. The winner may claim their prize by contacting Cancer Assistance Program at (905) 383-9797 x112 or events@cancerassist.ca. The ticket may then be brought to the Cancer Assistance Program located at 555 Concession Street at an agreed upon time for ticket verification. The winner will then be paid by cheque for the amount posted on the lottery website for which they bought their ticket. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque.
18. The winner must provide their name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet.
19. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50 per cent of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
20. All prizes must be claimed within 6 months of the relevant draw unless otherwise specified. Thereafter any unclaimed prizes must be secured or placed in safekeeping by the Cancer Assistance Program for a period of six (6) months from the date of the draw. If at the expiry of six (6) months the prize has not been claimed, the prize monies will be donated back to the Cancer Assistance Program, with the approval of the AGCO.
21. The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the 50/50 draws: Cancer Assistance Program staff, Hamilton Cardinals Staff and Players, residents outside of Ontario, and anyone under the age of 18.
