Friends of 533 Squadron Society – 50/50 Raffle Rules
1. License and Compliance
This raffle (the "Raffle") is conducted by Friends of 533 Squadron Society (F533) under an AGLC-issued raffle license, in compliance with the Criminal Code of Canada, the Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act and Regulations, AGLC Raffle Terms & Conditions, and any other applicable rules and laws.
2. Raffle Dates and Draw Location
The Raffle will occur during the dates listed on the AGLC raffle license. The draw will be conducted using a Random Number Generator (RNG) system. All draws will take place at:
- Friends of 533 Squadron Society, 17 Perron Street, St. Albert, Alberta
- (or another location listed on the raffle license)
For the May 30, 2026, raffle, the draw will take place at St. Albert Inn & Suites, 156 St. Albert Trail, St. Albert, Alberta
Draws are open to the public.
3. Eligibility
- The Raffle is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and are physically located in Alberta at the time of ticket purchase.
- Not eligible to participate: Executive Board Members of F533, Raffle Organizers, or individuals directly involved in the raffle operation, and their immediate household family members.
4. Ticket Pricing
Ticket pricing may vary depending on the event but may typically include:
- 100 tickets for $95
- 50 tickets for $70
- 25 tickets for $40
- 5 tickets for $20
- 1 ticket for $5
Pricing must be approved under the terms of the AGLC raffle license.
5. Ticket Sales
- Tickets may be sold online via an AGLC-approved platform or in person at AGLC-approved events.
- All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason, including purchaser error or duplicate purchases.
6. Allocation of Proceeds
Each Raffle winner will receive a prize equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total Jackpot for that particular event. The remaining fifty percent (50%) will benefit the 533 St. Albert Royal Canadian Air Cadets Sabre Squadron, as approved by AGLC.
7. The Draw
- Ticket sales will close as specified under the license and publicized before each draw.
- The draw will occur no later than 11:59 PM MST on the final day of the raffle period.
- The winning number will be selected by RNG (random number generated) and posted on the Society’s website or designated platform, https://www.facebook.com/533RCACS
8. Claiming the Prize
- Winners have 4 business days from the draw announcement to claim their prize.
- To claim a prize, winners must provide:
- (1) A valid government-issued photo ID
- (2) A copy of the winning ticket (digital or printed)
- (3) Any forms required by AGLC or F533 (e.g. release forms)
- Another winner may be selected after 4 business days if the prize has not been claimed OR
- Unclaimed prizes may be rolled into future raffles, subject to AGLC approval.
9. Publicity Release
Each winner, by accepting a prize, grants F533 and the 533 St. Albert Air Cadet Sabre Squadron full permission (except where prohibited by law) to use the winner’s:
- Name
- City of residence
- Photograph
- Voice
- Likeness
- Prize details
for advertising, promotion, and trade purposes in any and all media, worldwide and in perpetuity, without further compensation or notification.
Each winner may be required to sign publicity release documentation as a condition of receiving their prize.
10. Ticket Transfers and Age Restrictions
- Tickets may not be transferred to another individual before claiming the prize.
- Purchasers may not give or sell tickets to persons under 18 years old, in accordance with the Public Trustee Act.
11. Early Bird or Bonus Prizes
If applicable, early bird or special draw prizes will be:
- Announced prior to the raffle
- Drawn using RNG
- Subject to the same rules regarding eligibility, winner notification, and prize claiming
12. Raffle Tickets are Not Tax Deductible
Under current Canadian tax law, raffle ticket purchases are not considered charitable donations and are therefore not eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
13. Technical Issues and Cancellation
If technical problems, unauthorized intervention, or other disruptions occur, F533 may:
- Cancel the raffle, or
- Suspend and later resume the raffle, or
- Draw from all valid entries collected to date
All actions will comply with AGLC regulations and require AGLC approval as needed.
14. Right to Modify Rules
Friends of 533 Squadron Society reserves the right to modify these rules at any time, subject to AGLC approval where applicable.
