For many years, the House of Bread & Peace annual raffle was a tradition supported through mailed tickets and community generosity. This year, we are excited to bring the raffle back in a new and more accessible online raffle format - allowing even more community members to support women and children experiencing homelessness in our region.

The House of Bread & Peace, a program operated by ECHO Housing & Community Development, builds upon the legacy Sister Joanna Trainer started serves approximately 140 women and women with children each year by providing emergency shelter, safety, stability, and compassionate support during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. For many who enter our doors, the House represents more than shelter - it represents hope, healing, dignity, and a safe place to begin again.

Most of the House’s operations, amenities, and supportive services are made possible through private donations and community support. Contributions from efforts like this raffle help provide essentials such as meals, hygiene items, linens, utilities, transportation assistance, children’s needs, case management support, and a safe place for women and children to rest while working toward long-term stability and housing.

At ECHO Housing & Community Development, we believe every person has inherent worth and dignity, and that safe, stable housing is foundational to healing, growth, and opportunity. Through the support of our community, we can continue ensuring that women and children facing crisis have access to safety, compassion, and the support they need to move forward.
