Dreams Take Flight Ottawa is a national, 100% volunteer-run (no paid positions) non-profit dedicated to creating a life-changing experience for children who have faced adversity. Our mission is to increase their bank of positive childhood experiences—building resilience, self-esteem, and self-worth, ultimately supporting their mental wellbeing.
Each year, we provide a trip-of-a-lifetime to over 120+ deserving children from the National Capital Region. These children come from backgrounds where financial constraints make such experiences impossible. Many have endured significant hardships—whether medical, mental, physical, or social. For one extraordinary day, they are given the chance to experience pure joy, wonder, and a world without limitations.
A Community Effort That Changes Lives
Flight Day is a testament to generosity and dedication. Air Canada donates the aircraft, and the ground crew, flight crew, medical teams, and volunteers donate their time to make this magical journey possible. The remaining costs —aircraft fuel, park admission, meals, clothing, and souvenirs—are covered entirely through the tireless fundraising efforts of our volunteers.
Our team is the heart and soul of Dreams Take Flight Ottawa. Volunteers handle every aspect, from fundraising and administration to flight planning and governance. Their commitment ensures that each child not only experiences an unforgettable day but also leaves with a renewed sense of hope, joy, and possibility.
