Did you know that the Canadian Tulip Festival (Canadian Tulip Legacy) is an independent, non-profit charity? We are a small team putting on a historical event every year, keeping it free for everyone, forever.

The Canadian Tulip Festival was established to celebrate the historic royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to Canadians immediately following WWII, as a symbol of international friendship.

The Festival preserves the memorable role of the Canadian troops in the Liberation of the Netherlands and Europe, as well as commemorates the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during WWII - the only royal personage ever born in Canada!

Since 1953, the mission of the Canadian Tulip Festival is to educate future generations of Canadians about the cost of freedom, the importance of international friendship and the meaning behind the gift of tulips by commemorating the sacrifice of Canadians in WWII.

Saviez-vous que le Festival canadien des tulipes (Canadian Tulip Legacy) est un organisme de bienfaisance indépendant et sans but lucratif ? Nous sommes une petite équipe qui organise un événement historique chaque année, en le gardant gratuit pour tout le monde, pour toujours.

Le Festival canadien des tulipes a été créé pour célébrer le don royal historique de tulipes des Néerlandais aux Canadiens immédiatement après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, en tant que symbole de l'amitié internationale.

Le festival préserve le rôle mémorable des troupes canadiennes dans la libération des Pays-Bas et de l'Europe, et commémore la naissance de la princesse néerlandaise Margriet à Ottawa pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale - le seul personnage royal né au Canada !

Depuis 1953, la mission du Festival canadien des tulipes est d'éduquer les générations futures de Canadiens sur le coût de la liberté, l'importance de l'amitié internationale et la signification du don de tulipes en commémorant le sacrifice des Canadiens pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Rules of Play for the Canadian Tulip Legacy 50/50 Raffle

1. All tickets will be sold only to people who are 18 years of age or older.

2. Tickets will be sold online using the electronic lottery system supplied by Rafflebox.

3. The lottery will occur in the Province of Ontario.

4. Draw Schedule:

Ticket sales will begin at 0600am on Friday March 20,2026

Ticket sales deadline is 1159pm Sunday May 31st, 2026

5. Tickets are: 1 for $10; 4 for $20; 20 for $50; 100 for $100

6. After buying, patrons will be provided by the sellers, a receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.

7. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all lottery numbers sold for the draw.

8. The winner may claim their prize by contacting the Canadian Tulip Legacy at 1 800-668-8547 or jo@tulipfestival.ca . Winners’ names will also be posted on the official Canadian Tulip Festival Facebook page. Once the winning ticket has been verified the winner will be paid by cheque for the amount posted on the lottery website for which they bought their ticket. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque within 30 days of winner confirmation.

9. The winning ticket holder has six months to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for.

10. The winner must provide their name, address, and phone number with picture identification.

11. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is 50 per cent (50%) of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.

12. If no winner comes forward, the winning number will be kept on file in a secure location and held for six months. After that time period has elapsed, the prize or monies equivalent to the fair market value of the prize must be donated to a beneficiary approved by the licensing authority.

13. The following individuals and their immediate family members living at the same address are excluded from purchasing a ticket: Canadian Tulip Festival staff and board members and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to the Canadian Tulip Festival 50/50.
