As a dedicated non-profit, Latispánica Cultural Association, we are excited to share a unique opportunity that champions diversity and unity through the vibrant celebration of Latin American cultural heritage in Nova Scotia. Since our origin in 2012, our mission has been to promote cultural diversity, integration, and preservation. We achieve this by actively participating in cultural events and organizing annual gatherings that bring the Hispanic community together.

Funds raised by this 50/50 raffle support our mission and our free annual LatinFax festival, a joyous celebration of Latin culture through dance, music, food, and vibrant traditions. Set against the scenic Halifax Waterfront, LatinFax promises an enriching experience with authentic cuisines, traditional games, cultural dances, and lively rhythms, all while supporting Latin American-owned businesses. It serves as a platform for reconnecting with heritage, fostering a sense of belonging, and enhancing cultural understanding among Nova Scotians from diverse backgrounds.

Over the past five years, LatinFax has seen attendance growth from 400 to 25,000 participants. This surge reflects the festival's impact and the community's growing interest in Latin American culture.

In addition, we aim to support organizations that provide aid to children in communities who are abandoned or live in conditions of extreme difficulty in different Latin American countries and Halifax. Through the dedication of many volunteers and support of community groups and sponsors, Latispánica has grown and successfully raised funds for children in need both in Latin America and Halifax.

Rules of Play for 50/50 Online Raffle

Latispánica Cultural Association

1. Latispánica Cultural Association is a non-profit organization based in Halifax, Nova Scotia whose mission is the promotion of the Hispanic culture, the celebration of diversity and integration in Nova Scotia.

2. The lottery will take place from April 1, 2026 to July 18, 2026.

3. Tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10 and 10 for $25

4. Tickets will be available via the online purchase website Rafflebox. Online - Purchasers must provide their first name, last name, address, telephone number and e-mail. Payment will be accepted online via Credit Card, Visa Debit.

5. Tickets will be sold using a certified online raffle system supplied by Rafflebox. All ticket numbers will be emailed to ticket purchasers by the registered Electronic Raffle Supplier (ERS) (Rafflebox). A physical ticket will not be mailed out for this draw.

6. After buying, purchasers will be presented a downloadable and printable ticket/receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers. Numbers purchased will be stored electronically along with the purchasers’ purchase history and information.

7. The winner will be determined by a random draw using a registered Electronic Raffle Supplier (ERS) Random Number Generator (RNG).

8. The amount of the 50/50 will be broadcast and updated live (in real time) on the website.

9. The winning number will be featured on the website after the draw (6:00 PM AST, July 18, 2026); additionally, the winner will be contacted via telephone and e-mail per the information they submit at time of online purchase.

10. The winning ticket holder has 90 days to claim their prize, and after that a second draw will take place as per the ticket lottery regulations.

11. The winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet. A scan of a valid provincial or federal photo identification card (i.e., driver’s license, firearm possession permit, passport, etc.) is acceptable.

12. Upon verification of the winner’s identity and age, via a scan of a valid provincial or federal photo identification card (i.e., driver’s license, firearm possession permit, passport, etc.), the winner will be sent payment via cheque.

13. Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for that game will be mailed. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.

14. The winner’s name will be broadcast/posted on the website and publicized via Latispánica Cultural Association’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

15. In the event that attempts to contact the winner are unsuccessful, the winning stub will be kept in a locked filing cabinet for 90 days. After that time period has elapsed a second draw will take place with the approval of Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming. The second winner also has 90 days to claim their prize. If not claimed a second time, Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming will be notified and advised of the registered charity we will be donating to for approval from your office.
