Waterloo Region Minor Football intends to use lottery proceeds to ensure that every child who wants to play football has the opportunity to do so—regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Proceeds will go directly toward supporting families who cannot afford registration fees, equipment costs, and other program-related expenses.
These funds will provide fee subsidies, equipment assistance, and access to essential safety gear, removing financial barriers that too often prevent young athletes from participating. Most importantly, lottery proceeds will directly support student-athletes who face financial barriers that too often keep them on the sidelines. By easing the financial burden on families, we are not only opening the door to sport participation, but also to the life-changing benefits that football provides—teamwork, discipline, confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging.
Waterloo Region Minor Football is committed to building an inclusive, community-centered program where every child feels valued and empowered. Lottery funding will help us create equitable access to sport, strengthen our programs, and ensure that no young athlete is left watching from the sidelines simply because of cost.
