The New Glasgow Farmers Market is the regional farmers market for Pictou County. It is a thriving hub of activity on Saturday mornings. It’s an accessible, welcoming gathering space where people come together weekly not only to shop for local food and goods, but to socialize and re-connect with community. 

The "Raise the Barn" project aims to not only provide our vendors with consistent access to a heated and secure year-round space, but this initiative will improve community food security through new and existing programs. The space will support farmers by offering additional options to get their product to market while increasing our community's access to local food. 

The Market acts as a small business incubator, supporting over 140 businesses annually. The proposed building will also reduce barriers for food producers by providing much needed commercial kitchen access and offering other qualifying businesses access through our proposed retail storefront. 

Without this space, we are at risk of losing the seasonal structure we have which would have negative impact on the businesses and the community we serve.
