Northern Animal Rescue Humane Society (NAR) is a rescue organization founded January 2009 in the town of La Ronge, Saskatchewan. We are a humane society registered as a non-profit, charitable organization that is committed to the development and improvement of animal welfare in our Tri-Community (La Ronge, Air Ronge and Lac La Ronge Indian Band).

We rescue animals that have been injured, abused, neglected or surrendered and help to get these animals healthy and eventually into their forever homes. If an animal in our care requires immediate veterinary attention, we arrange for medical assessment and treatment before foster placement. Each year, we put close to 40,000 kms per year on our vehicle doing transports to partnered rescues, fosters and vet trips.

We are volunteer-based and rely on the kindness of others to foster animals, help with events, fundraise and run our organization. We also offer support to pet owners providing much-needed resources such as running our food bank drive, tie-outs, harnesses, leashes and services through our mobile vet clinic partnership with the U. of S. College of Veterinary Medicine to host spay/neuter and wellness clinics. Additionally, NAR offers subsidies for vet services and transportation on a case-by-case basis for vet care.

Currently fundraising for:

• Funds to buy supplies for our pet food bank (dog/puppy food and cat/kitten food).

• Funds to buy harnesses, leashes, tie-outs.

• Funds for our daily operations (vaccines, kennel improvements, emergency vet care etc.)

• Funds for our subsidies for spay/neuter and vet services.

• Funds for our transport program for vet trips and transferring animals to partners.

• Funds to maintain the operation of our vehicle (insurance, maintenance, fuel, etc.)
