Camp Sheldrake Duck Race Lottery & 50/50 Draw

License Information

Conducted in accordance with the Gaming Control Act and Regulations of New Brunswick.

1. Organizer

The Camp Sheldrake Duck Race Lottery and associated 50/50 draw (collectively referred to as the “Lottery”) are conducted by the Camp Sheldrake Inc. (the “Licensee”) and administered in compliance with all requirements of Service New Brunswick – Gaming, Lotteries and Licensing.

2. Eligibility

2.1. Participants must be legal residents of the Province of New Brunswick.

2.2. Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of ticket purchase.

2.3. Tickets must be purchased using cash, major credit card, Visa Debit, or MasterCard Debit.

2.4. Persons directly involved in the conduct, management, or supervision of the Lottery, including the Licensee’s executives, board members, employees, and volunteers, and members of their immediate households, are not eligible to participate or win.

3. Ticket Sales

3.1. Tickets are available for purchase online through the approved Electronic Raffle Supplier (ERS), Rafflebox, and in person from authorized sellers.

3.2. Ticket prices are as follows:

1 ticket for $5, and 5 tickets for $20.

3.3. Ticket sales will close on Sunday, August 30, approximately 30 minutes prior to ducks being placed in the water.

3.4. The exact closing time may vary due to tide and environmental conditions but will not surpass 11:59 PM

3.5. All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued.

4. Ticket Issuance and Records

4.1. Online purchases: Ticket numbers will be generated and issued by Rafflebox and delivered electronically to the purchaser’s registered email address. No physical ticket will be issued or mailed.

4.2. In‑person purchases: Purchasers will receive a hard‑copy ticket at the point of sale.

4.3. The electronic and physical ticket records maintained by the Licensee and ERS shall constitute the official record of the Lottery.

5. Location and Method of Determining Winners

5.1. The Duck Race will take place at 35 St. Patrick’s Drive, Miramichi, New Brunswick.

5.2. Numbered ducks corresponding to ticket numbers will be released into the water.

5.3. The first duck to cross the designated finish line will determine the winning ticket number.

5.4. The draw is considered final and binding once the winning duck has been confirmed.

6. Prizes

6.1. Duck Race Grand Prize: One (1) prize of $3,000 cash.

6.2. 50/50 Prize: One (1) prize equal to 50% of total 50/50 ticket sales, with the remaining 50% retained by the Licensee in accordance with license conditions.

6.3. Odds of winning depend on the total number of tickets sold.

6.4. Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded.

7. Winner Notification and Prize Claims

7.1. Winning ticket numbers will be announced following the race and may also be posted on the Licensee’s website, social media platforms, and/or through the ERS platform.

7.2. Winners have 30 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

7.3. To claim a prize, the winner must provide valid government‑issued photo identification and the corresponding ticket or electronic confirmation.

7.4. Unclaimed prizes will be handled in accordance with Service New Brunswick Gaming regulations.

8. Consent to Publication

8.1. By purchasing a ticket, participants consent to the use and publication of their name, municipality of residence, ticket number, and/or winning information for publicity, advertising, and regulatory reporting purposes, in compliance with New Brunswick gaming requirements.

9. Cancellation, Delay, or Modification

9.1. The Licensee reserves the right to delay, modify, or cancel the Duck Race due to weather, safety, tidal conditions, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. In the case the Duck Race is delayed, the winner will be determined by a random draw utilizing a New Brunswick registered Electronic Raffle Supplier (ERS) Random Number Generator (RNG) through Rafflebox.

9.2. Any approved changes will be announced as soon as reasonably possible and conducted in compliance with license conditions.

10. General Conditions

10.1. Any ticket found to be altered, illegible, counterfeit, or obtained in violation of these rules shall be void.

The Licensee’s decisions regarding eligibility, rule interpretation, and prize allocation are final.

10.2. This Lottery is subject to all applicable provincial laws, regulations, and license terms.

10.3. Any prize not claimed within forty‑five (45) days of the applicable draw date shall be deemed unclaimed. Unclaimed prizes shall be retained by the Licensee and treated as a donation, to be applied exclusively toward the approved use of proceeds.
