Who We Are

Our journey began in 1976 as Parkland Humane SPCA. Over the years, we evolved into the Red Deer & District SPCA and, in 2017, became the Central Alberta Humane Society (CA Humane). Through it all, our commitment to helping animals and preventing cruelty has remained steadfast.

What We Do for Our Community

• At CA Humane, we provide a wide range of services, including:
• Pet Adoptions: All our shelter pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, health-checked, and up to date on vaccinations.
• Lost & Found Services: Reuniting pets with their families.
• PALS Program: Affordable spay/neuter services for low-income pet owners.
• Emergency Boarding: Temporary care for pets when families are in crisis.
• Pet Food Bank: Helping individuals in need feed their pets.
• Humane Education & Youth Programs: Camps, presentations, and community outreach.
• Volunteering & Fostering: Opportunities for people of all ages, including inclusive programs for adults with disabilities.
• Dignified Pet Cremation Services.
