Raffle Overview
1) Alberta Ghostbusters Cosplay Society (ABGB) will operate the raffle according to the Criminal Code (Canada), the Gaming and Liquor Act, the Gaming and Liquor Regulation and Board policies established under the legislation, including these terms and conditions.
2) ABGB and our 2026 raffle adhere to all federal, provincial and municipal laws.
3) ABGB’s raffle event is conducted and managed completely within the province of Alberta.
4) Any approved amendments that affect the awarding of prizes will result in immediate notification to ticket holders by way of advertising and will have unsold tickets amended.
5) Procedures for the secure storage, distribution, and the secure receipt and deposit of cash proceeds are in place.
Raffle Rules
1) ABGB has established and will maintain rules to govern the conduct of the draw and awarding of the prize. Rules are available to ticket buyers, if requested.
2) Raffle tickets shall not be sold to a person less than 18 years of age.
3) A requirement that the licensed charity’s raffle ticket sellers advise adult ticket buyers not to write the name of a person under 18 years of age on the ticket.
4) The raffle draw follows a strict set of procedures, with draw control oversight by Rafflebox Technologies Inc. and under licensing approval by the licensing body, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). The draw will be conducted in accordance with the approved Raffle Terms and Conditions put forward by AGLC. The draw is conducted using a Random Number Generator (RNG) system, certified and approved by AGLC.
5) Raffle tickets can be purchased from April 23rd, 2026, at 2:00 pm to April 26th, 2026, until 5:00 pm on Rafflebox website.
6) There are no restrictions on the licensed charity’s members, board members, or their families buying tickets.
7) Owners and/or employees of RaffleBox will not be eligible to purchase tickets.
8) Only upon demonstrating extraordinary circumstances to Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis (AGLC) will the Licensee make a request for draw extension.
9) The raffle draw will take place in-person at Calgary Comic Expo at the ABGB booth (Stampede Park, 20 Roundup Way SE, Calgary, AB, T2G 2W1). The draw will be open to the public.
10) A number will be drawn for each prize using an electronic raffle system on April 26th, 2025, at 5:15 pm
11) The raffle winners will be notified by phone within 7 days of the winning ticket being drawn. If the winner cannot be located by phone, they will be notified by email or registered mail within 14 days of the winning ticket being drawn.
12) By buying the raffle tickets you consent to having your name and winning numbers published.
13) The winner’s names and winning tickets numbers will be posted to the third-party fundraising page through ABGB’s website: http://albertaghostbusters.ca/
14) The winners will have until 12 pm on May 26th, 2026, to claim their prize.
15) Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash.
16) If the winners cannot be located within 30 days of the draw, after publicly advertising this fact, the unclaimed prize will be absorbed back to ABGB as gaming proceeds.
17) If a winning ticket has more than one name affiliated with it, the licensed charity shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the ticket, and that the licensed charity and the AGLC are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals whose names appear on the ticket stub.
