United Way Yukon - 50/50 Raffle Feb 2022 Rules
Tickets will be sold online through rafflebox.ca website.
Ticket Sales will begin at 9am on Monday February 7, 2022 and end at midnight Sunday February 27, 2022. Winning ticket draw date will be at Noon on Monday March 7, 2022.
Maximum $ value of ticket sales will be $20,000. Ticket prices will be 20 tickets @ 1 for $10 = $200; 500 tickets @ 4 for $20 = $2,500; 2920 tickets @ 20 for $50 = $7,300; and 10,000 tickets @ 100 for $100 = $10,000
Rafflebox inputs the amount of each ticket series that's available for sale in their system. Once it reaches the limit the platform will not sell any more of that series (Series A is 1 for $10, Series B is 4 for $20, Series C is 20 for $50 and Series D is 100 for $100)
At the time of purchase Rafflebox will capture purchaser's first and last name, mailing address, phone number and email address. They keep this information secure on their website, password protected or our particular raffle page.
At the time of purchase the payment processor Stripe will capture purchaser’s credit card information. This occurs on a secure page hosted by Stripe and is not accessible to anyone but Stripe.
Stripe blocks anyone who has an out of Yukon postal code for the billing address on their credit card. There is a check box saying that the purchaser is over 19 years old and a resident of Yukon which must be confirmed before a raffle ticket purchase can be made.
United Way Yukon has connected their bank account to Stripe so that money goes directly to United Way Yukon, minus credit card transaction fees from Stripe
Rafflebox website assigns a ticket number to each purchaser and emails a pdf proof of purchase to the purchaser. The emailed pdf is not an actual ticket that can be used to claim the winning prize, it is only a proof of purchase. Ticket purchasers should retain this pdf, but will receive an actual physical ticket mailed out at the end of ticket sales.
Tickets will be consecutively numbered.
Rafflebox/United Way Yukon will mail out hard copies of the ticket to the purchaser using the mailing address captured during the purchase.
United Way Yukon will print the tickets to be used for drawing the winning ticket number. Ticket information is downloaded from the Rafflebox website to ensure ticket numbers match ticket purchasers.
Rafflebox maintains a control sheet through their online system so that United Way Yukon can view a list of all tickets purchased, the purchaser’s name, date of purchase, cost of purchase, as well as unsold tickets (if any). United Way Yukon will print out all online control sheets created through the Rafflebox site to have hard copies of all financial records, ticket sales, ticket stubs and all receipts. They will store these in their office at 305 Wood Street in a secure filing cabinet.
Employees, Board members or family members of staff and Board of United Way Yukon, and Yukon Wildlife Preserve will not be allowed to purchase tickets. If it is discovered that the winning ticket is an employee, board member or relation of staff or board, that ticket will be discarded and a new winning ticket will be drawn.
While there is a maximum total ticket sale value of $20,000 there is no minimum dollar value. A winner will be declared regardless of the total value of tickets sold.
Draw will take place at 12:PM (Noon) on Monday March 7, 2022 at United Way Yukon’s office at 305 Wood Street Whitehorse YT. We will also live broadcast the ticket draw through United Way Yukon’s Facebook page. The reason for the delay between the end of ticket sales and the draw date is so that hard copies of the purchased tickets can be mailed to purchasers and so that there is time to audit all tickets to ensure a match between the online control sheet of tickets purchased and the hard copies for the draw. Due to COVID physical distancing rules and space limitations at 305 Wood Street, the draw will not be attended by the public.
Winning ticket will be posted on social media for United Way Yukon and Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
Winner will be contacted by phone and email by United Way Yukon Executive Director Jamie Boyd immediately after the draw.
Winner will be paid 50% of gross sales by cheque issued by United Way Yukon. Cheque will be mailed to the winning ticket purchaser.
Winning ticket purchaser has 30 days from the draw date to contact United Way Yukon by phone or email to claim the prize. Winning ticket purchaser must present their ticket, with the winning number, in person at United Way Yukon’s office. If there is a reasonable explanation for the delay in appearing in person and United Way Yukon has either spoken to or emailed with the winner, this period of time will be extended by an additional 30 days to allow the winner to claim the prize in person.
If there is no response, either in person or by phone or email, from the winning ticket purchaser within 30 days a second number will be drawn. All tickets in the original draw (except the one that was drawn initially but not claimed which will be securely stored but kept separate) will be kept securely at United Way Yukon’s office 305 Wood Street Whitehorse YT until the winning ticket is claimed and the prize is awarded.
