Take a Year Off Raffle… in support of the Tofield Agricultural Society (TAS)

RAFFLE RULES:

1.      Tickets are sold online through the registered Electronic Raffle Supplier (ERS) Rafflebox Technologies Inc.

2.    Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older, reside in Alberta and must use a major credit

card or Visa Debit.  

3.      TAS executive, directors and their immediate family members are prohibited from purchasing tickets.  (to clarify, “immediate family members” refers to spouses of the TAS executive and directors.)

4.    Tickets will be available online through the registered ERS (Rafflebox Technologies Inc.) and sold at a rate of:

                        Series “A”                       1 ticket for $10

                        Series “B”                       4 tickets for $20

                        Series “C”                       20 tickets for $50

                        Series “D”                       100 tickets for $100

                        Total ticket Value:   $250,000                                              Total of 192,750 tickets

5.      All ticket numbers will be emailed to ticket purchasers by registered ERS (Rafflebox Technologies Inc.). A physical ticket will not be mailed out for this draw.

6.      All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds.

7.      The cost of raffle participation is not considered a charitable donation by the Canada Revenue

Agency and is not eligible for a tax receipt.

8.      Ticket sales will end on Tuesday., March 30, 2022 at 23:59 pm.

9.      The winner will be determined by a random draw utilizing an Alberta Gaming Liquor & Cannabis

(AGLC) registered ERS (Rafflebox Technologies Inc.) Random Number Generator (RNG).

10.   The draw will be conducted at Tofield Arena on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 12 Noon MST (time) and the winning ticket will be announced on TAS social media accounts and website.  Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud service will be utilized, so power failure at the time of the draw will not be an issue.

11.   By purchasing a ticket, the winner consents to having his/her name, winning numbers published.

12.   The person(s) drawing the winning number must not hold a ticket for that draw.

13.   One grand prize draw winner will be awarded: $52,000, seven (7) additional draws will be made in the order as follows:

1^st draw:             $52,000 cash prize                       5^th draw:            $1,000 cash prize

2^nd draw:            $5,000 cash prize                         6^th draw:            $1,000 cash prize

3^rd draw:            $3,000   cash prize                       7^th draw:            $500 cash prize

4^th draw:             $2,000   cash prize                       8^th draw:            $500 cash prize

            Any winning tickets will be returned to the draw, and are eligible for subsequent prizes.

14.   TAS will contact the prize winners by phone and email.  Winner will have three months to claim their prize.  Winner will provide their winning ticket and present their photo ID to TAS to claim their prize.

15.   If the prize is not claimed within three months from the draw date, and after all reasonable attempts have been made to contact the winner, Tofield Agricultural Society will apply to the AGLC to have the prize donated back to their own approved use of proceeds.

     16    In the event that the winning ticket has more than one name on it, the prize shall be awarded to

only one of the individuals, with the first name on the ticket deemed the official winner. TAS and AGLC are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals whose names appear on the ticket.

17.   Players should call the Raffle Chairperson at TAS at 780-662-3269 if they have any concerns.

Financial Controls

Here's the detailed step-by-step online procedure (from Tofield Agricultural Society):

1)              Tickets are sold on the Tofield Agricultural Society webpage on the Town of Tofield website.  Sign required with a username and password 

2)         Tofield Agricultural Society manages the raffle through the dashboard (update the writeup, post pictures etc.) 

3)         Tofield Agricultural Society creates an online merchant account with STRIPE CONNECT. 

4)         STRIPE CONNECT blocks anyone that has an out of province postal code from buying a ticket.  There is also a check box on our webpage that says "18 years old and a resident of Alberta".  The webpage will also block out of province IP addresses from purchasing tickets. 

5)         Tofield Agricultural Society connects our STRIPE CONNECT API keys  in our webpage so that every time there is a purchase, the money goes directly into our merchant account which is connected to our raffle bank account. 

6)         Tofield Agricultural Society then setup our STRIPE CONNECT merchant account to make deposits into our raffle bank account. 

7)         The website captures the ticket purchasers’ information at the time of purchase for our records, that we can cross reference with our STRIPE CONNECT. 

8)         The website assigns a ticket number to each purchaser, then Rafflebox Technologies Inc. emails ticket buyers the ticket.

9)         Tofield Agricultural Society uses Random Number Generator to pick the winner.

10)       Tofield Agricultural Society downloads a master list of all the sold ticket numbers with the associated owners name and contact information from our website. 

11)       Tofield Agricultural Society then contacts the winner(s) to arrange payment

12)       The Tofield Agricultural Society Raffle Chairperson – Vanita Eglauer and Treasurer – Cindy Neufeld will be responsible to reconcile and balance ticket sales to cash received.
