Welcome to the Nate the Great U9 2023 Hockey Tournament. We are honoured that you can join us in being part of this event, in the memory of Nate Beaudoin, referred by many of us as “Nate the Great”. If you are unfamiliar with Nate’s personal story, it is one that defines perseverance, strength, commitment and the dream to play hockey. You may see #23 throughout the tournament, as that was Nate’s number, and it will always be his number. At a young age, Nate was diagnosed with Heterotaxy and by the age of 8, had endured 5 open heart surgeries. Despite all those medical procedures, Nate continued to fulfill his dream and passion to play hockey and played with KC. On February 7, 2020, we tragically lost Nate, but he inspired many of us, from players to coaches to parents within our organisation, and we need this tournament to showcase his perseverance and love for this sport.
