Oilsands Rotary will be drawing this 50/50 live while hosting Reel Rock 17 at the Keyano Recital Theatre on March 10th starting at 7 pm. You do not need to attend to enter the 50/50, but you will miss out if you can’t make it! We will have tons of local raffle prizes including passes from RotaryLinks, Vista Ridge, Pomeroy Hotel and Mr.Mikes. Also, a bunch of climbing gear donated by Aluma Safway, kitchenware from Harris Appliance, Stratosphere prizes and many more local business sponsors being collected leading up to the event. 

The film fest itself highlights the most impressive climbing feats achieved over the last year and is entertaining to all, even if you’re not a climber, as there is always colourful characters and awe inspiring sites in locations around the world. This year’s showing consists of three short films; Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher on their multi-year quest to free climb the awe-inspiring Trango Tower; the raw, in-the-moment story of the first ascent of Seb Bouin's DNA, one of the world's two 5.15. sport routes; and an impactful exploration of Palestine's grassroots climbing scene. 

The Oilsands Rotary Club helps many non-profits around town through donations and volunteer work. Oilsands Rotary was started in 1983. Some of our contributions include helping open the first 911 dispatch for Fort McMurray, fire/flood recovery funding, over $100K in donations to the Northern Lights hospital, we gave away a Corvette at our family friendly Car Rally, Go Baby Go funding/volunteer work on fun mobility scooters for kids, Pedals for Paws bikes giveaway and auction with SPCA and the Oilsands Rotary Music Festival with Keyano College.
