Cystic Fibrosis Canada is excited to launch our 8th Annual Alberta Raffle, the New Year’s Cheer 50/50 cash raffle.

One lucky person has the chance to win up to $7,500 – not a bad way to start out 2023!

The 3 chapters in Alberta; Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer, have jointly held a raffle for the past 7 years.

Due to Covid restrictions Cystic Fibrosis Canada, just like all other Canadian charities, have had a large decrease in funds as many of our events and functions have either been cancelled or altered in some way. Unfortunately, those afflicted with this disease don’t get a break and they still need your help.

Since 1960 Cystic Fibrosis Canada has invested over $245 million in leading research, innovation and care to make this a world without CF. We support 42 accredited CF clinics serving over 4,300 Canadians with CF.

We also advocate for accessible drug coverage which has given CF our largest win yet in the history of this disease. As of September 2021, the newest drug to treat CF called Trikafta is now available to about 90% of the CF population over 12 years of age. Trikafta will change the future of CF as we have always known it.

Even with this new development, the CF community will continue to need quality healthcare and will still face a high treatment burden. CF Canada will continue to focus our investment in research on treatments for those who cannot benefit from highly effective modulators. We will always ensure that Trikafta and other CF modulator drugs are available to all those who can benefit from them and that our healthcare system is better equipped to welcome the next major CF breakthrough.
